Reynolds' Secondary School Recycling Program
The students at Reynolds are at the forefront of green initiatives in our community. On the fourth Saturday of each month, they will host a drop-off collection for recyclable goods which are not covered in the municipal blue-box program. This is a fund-raising effort and will be charged on a "by donation" basis. Some of the items accepted accepted include styrofoam, holiday light strings, TV sets, vacuums...

 

Friends of Beckwith Park
The Friends of Beckwith Park seek to restore the park to its natural beauty. They are looking for volunteers to assist with removal of invasive species. You can contact them by email here.

There’s been a lot happening in Beckwith Park these days! The volunteer group, Friends of Beckwith Park (FOBP), have been working hard regularly for the past 6 years to keep your park in great shape! In addition to eradicating Scotch Broom, our first target, FOBP continues to fight English Ivy, English Holly, Daphne, English Hawthorne and other invasive species. Friends of Hutchison Park
The newly formed group; " Friends of Hutchison Park" (at Rockhome Gardens on Rogers Ave), lead by steward Suzanne Woods are now seeking volunteers to restore this small park to its former glory. You can contact them by phone at 778-433-3630 or email here.(ourpark@shaw.ca).

NQLUPA past-president Ron Warden had a talk with Doug Roberts, Senior Bylaw Enforcement Officer for Saanich, regarding Bylaw Enforcement within Saanich.

The Home of Bruce Hutchison

The North Quadra Land-Use Protection Association is proud to have donated a painting by reknowned local artist to the Municipality of Saanich in honour of its Centennial year. The dedication ceremony was held at the Saanich Municipal Hall on 08 Dec 2006.

The painting is now hung in the Bruce Hutchison Branch of the Victoria Public Library at Commonwealth Recreation Centre.
